What this means for your bill
The most common "geothermal bill spike" isn't the heat pump at all — it's electric auxiliary heat strips running when they shouldn't. Strips make heat at 100% efficiency; your loop does it at 400–500% (COP 4–5). We check strip staging on every tune-up, and the fix often pays for the visit on the very next bill.
